Two structure events matter most. BOS (Break of Structure) = price breaks ABOVE the last swing high in an uptrend — the trend is confirmed and likely to continue. CHoCH (Change of Character) = price breaks BELOW the last higher-low for the first time — the 'character' has changed, an early warning the trend may be turning. In short: BOS says keep going, CHoCH says pay attention. These are the core of Smart Money Concepts (SMC).

BOS says the move has legs; CHoCH says pay attention, not necessarily reverse right now.

They're the same market-structure idea, just named in the 'smart money' style. BOS is price confirming the trend by taking out the last swing point; CHoCH is the first break the other way. No magic - it's a cleaner label for higher-highs/higher-lows breaking, and like any signal it still fails.

It's an early warning, not an automatic sell. A CHoCH on a small timeframe can be noise inside a bigger uptrend. Use it to tighten your stop or trim, then let the next BOS or a confirmed lower-high decide. Dumping everything on every CHoCH just churns you out of good trends.
