Regime is the market's overall weather. Risk-ON (index above its 200-DMA, calm volatility) favours trend-following; risk-OFF (below the 200-DMA, jumpy) favours defence and mean-reversion. Knowing the regime tells you how aggressive to be.

Say NIFTY is trading above its 200-DMA and India VIX is sitting near 12 - calm, trending weather. Fresh breakouts tend to follow through, so trend-following works. Flip it: NIFTY slips below the 200-DMA and VIX jumps to 22, and the same breakout often fails. Same setup, opposite odds - that's why you read the regime before you size up.

How do I check the regime quickly?Regime जल्दी से कैसे पता करूँ?

Look at whether NIFTY (or your index) is above or below its 200-day moving average, and whether India VIX is calm or spiking. Above and calm = risk-on; below and jumpy = risk-off. It's a weather read, not a precise signal - a clue, not a trigger.
