These are REVERSAL patterns that mark the end of a trend. A double top (an 'M') forms when price hits a high, pulls back, then rallies to the SAME high and fails again — two rejections at one ceiling, so buyers are exhausted and price tends to fall. A double bottom (a 'W') is the mirror: two failures to break the SAME floor, sellers exhausted, price tends to rise. The pattern is only CONFIRMED when price breaks the neckline (the pullback level between the two peaks/troughs) — before that it is just a range. Target = the pattern's height projected from the neckline break; keep the stop just beyond the two tops/bottoms. Volume should fade on the second peak and pick up on the break — a break without volume often fails.

It's only confirmed if price then breaks below the Rs 1,100 neckline. Until that break it's just two rejections; plenty of stocks poke through the second peak and keep going, so the neckline is the trigger, not the shape.

Two peaks at the same high, then a break BELOW the neckline = sell signal. Stop just above the tops; target = the tops-to-neckline height, projected down.

Two touches are NOT a pattern until the neckline breaks. Enter early and a third push through the high leaves you trapped. Wait for the break + volume; a retest that holds is the safest entry.

Reading the scanner: forming vs confirmed · Scanner Radar Deck
On the Scanner Radar Deck's M/W tab, 'forming' = the two lows/tops are in place but price is still on the WRONG side of the neckline — the break hasn't happened, so WATCH. 'confirmed' = price already broke it (W above = buy fired, M below = sell fired). Entry = the neckline; a confirmed name that already ran far means you wait for a retest. It's a heuristic detection list, not a scored buy — you judge and trade the break.

Yes - 'same' means roughly the same zone, within a percent or two, not to the paisa. Charts are messy. What matters is that price tried the same resistance twice and failed both times, then broke the neckline. Demanding a perfect match will just make you miss the real ones.

That's guessing, not confirmation - the pattern isn't valid until the neckline breaks, and until then price can just resume the uptrend. Also, in the cash segment you can only short intraday; carrying a short overnight needs futures. Wait for the neckline break, ideally on rising volume, and keep a stop above the peak.
